The role of the Professional Services Engineer is to deliver in the technical aspects of any customer rollout specifically around development of proposed solutions, integrations and other requested development.

Hadean provides a toolset to solve highly complicated, performance bottlenecked problems using distributed cloud compute, however the implementation of solutions using these tools is still a complex endeavour.

The Customer Success professional services team aims to solve these problems in collaboration with our customers. As an engineer within the team you will be presented with a wide variety of interesting problems in different market sectors using a variety of technologies with the aim of delivering a best in class solution.

The role will be to represent the technical expertise of Hadean and ensure that a customer is able to gain the best possible use out of our products. Deadlines are set by the customer and so a flexible approach to working hours will be needed. You will work within a team but have a large degree of autonomy, the ability to understand the full scope of the project and make informed implementation decisions on the fly is essential.

Key responsibilities

• Review of and contribution to complete project scope and technical architecture proposals
• Provide high level estimation of work needed to deliver on proposed architectures for new customers
• Representing the technical expertise of Hadean
• Assisting in customer code review
• Designing / Developing prototypes to support Business development
• Assist gathering customer insight to drive product roadmap and PMF
• Execute full lifecycle software development using a variety of methodologies.
• Write well designed, performant, scalable, testable and maintainable code.
• Uphold good software development practices that include estimation, code reviews, testing, debugging, adhering to code standards, and seeking improvements across the entire software development lifecycle with the end user in mind.

Your Skills

• Strong communication skills across different teams and technical backgrounds with the ability to easily drop into different development teams
• Ability to work independently, understanding complex customer needs in a variety of sectors and making sensible implementation decisions as needed
• Strong technical knowledge of distributed compute sector including understanding of the np complete problem set
• Resourceful
• Experienced in rapid prototyping
• Ability to identify and manage technical risks
• Ability to perform effectively to tight deadlines, working well both independently and as part of a team

Technical Skills

• Experience in a strongly typed language (Rust / C++ / C# etc)
• Confident using modern CMake or equivalent cross platform build tools
• Experience profiling and optimising high performance applications
• Comfortable developing on Linux and Windows
• Experience with distributed systems and network optimization
• Understanding of performance considerations, memory management, multiple processor use, and runtime optimisation

Preferred Skills

• Strong real-time 2D and 3D graphics skills, including linear algebra and key optimisation techniques
• Knowledge of information architecture
• Able to draw up architectural diagrams
• Experience using Unreal Engine 4 or Unity
